Dear Coal Creek Camp DUP Daughters,
We hope your summer was a pleasant one, and as it comes to a close it is time to begin our DUP Camp meetings.
The first meeting is Monday Sept 12th at 2 pm in the 9th/17th Church (256 So. 900 West) in the Relief Society room. There has been new Construction on the Relief Society room, but plans are that it will be completed by Sept 12th. If not we will give further directions on where to enter the building. Please plan to attend this meeting to pick up your DUP Booklet for the 2011-2012 year.
Also, please bring your yearly dues, which will be $18.00. It has become necessary to raise dues to $18.00 this year. The Camp keeps $3.00 from each person’s dues to be used for Camp supplies and activities, the rest is sent to International and County DUP offices. Please place dues in an envelope with the completed form below. You may also send dues, and the completed form, to Lorraine Palmer 409 South 1840 West. Thanks for your understanding in this matter.
Other items of business:
1. DUP Foundation Scholarship applications are due by Oct. 1, 2011. The scholarship is available to daughters and granddaughters of DUP members planning to attend SUU. Requirements are listed on the application. Betty Jo Dunnell will accept scholarship applications at 372 N. 800 W. Cedar City, Utah 84720 or call her at 586-7556
2. LaKay Weber will provide docent training on Tuesdays at 10:00 am at the museum. The efforts of the DUP docents are greatly appreciated by the DUP Foundation Board. You may contact LaKay at 586-5058.
3. The DUP International Convention to be held in Layton, Utah Thursday, October 8th. If you would like to attend, please contact Marijane Robinson, no later than August 31. The lunch will be $15.00 and tickets must be purchased in advance. Marijane has ticket order forms, directions to the Convention Center and a list of nearby hotels for anyone who may be going.
We are excited to start another DUP season, there will be new lessons and new faces. The meetings continue to be on the 2nd Monday of each month, except for December which will be the annual DUP area Christmas dinner. It is our camps turn to host the Christmas luncheon held Saturday Dec. 3rd in the same buildings as our DUP Meetings. We need each of you to help with the luncheon and thanks for that help in advance.
It will be nice to see everyone as we begin our 2011-2012 DUP year.
